Exploring the World

You’ll be exploring a country in the world--your choice!

Please look for but don’t limit yourself to finding the following information:

  • Location:  continent, surrounding countries, oceans etc.
  • Capital city
  • Physical features: mountains, river, lake, desert, etc.
  • Climate
  • Tourist attractions (monuments, historical sites, etc.)

Use Britannica Online and The CIA World Factbook 2000

Collect some pictures as you work such as a map, country flag, photos.

While researching, find out your country population in order to make a graph comparing it to the US population (275,562,673 -July 2000 estimate) for one of your slides.

Take notes as you work.

Once you’ve collected your information, start making some slides in PowerPoint.  Use a combination of text and pictures. The first slide should be a title slide with your country and your name.  The last slide should be a list of the Web sites you visited to get information.  You should have at least 3 slides of content presenting what you’ve found out about your country.
