Football: Dominick Ciao

After a brief break from the sidelines, Coach Dominick Ciao returned to his true calling and became the head football coach at Berkeley in 2007 where his winning ways continue at the helm of the Berkeley Buccaneers. In March of 2016, Ciao was recognized by the Positive Coaching Alliance’s with the coveted Double-Goal Coach Award, named for coaches who strive to win while pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. Coach Ciao’s career record is an impressive 209-99 placing him among Hillsborough County’s most respected and accomplished coaches. Over 145 athletes have continued their football careers in college under Coach Ciao, one being current 1st Round NFL draft pick and Super Bowl Champion, Nelson Agholor. Coach Ciao has led his teams to 16 playoff appearances, nine district titles, and four regional titles.
Founded in 1960, Berkeley is an independent, Episcopal, college-preparatory day school located in Tampa, FL, for boys and girls in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12. Approximately 1,400 students gather here from the greater Tampa Bay area to form ONE Berkeley.
