Berkeley Families Prepare over 47,000 Meals for Kids in Need
On Super Bowl Sunday, February 5, more than 300 members of the Berkeley community, of all ages, generously gave part of their morning to come together in the Dimmitt Gymnasium to make a positive difference for others throughout the Tampa Bay community.
Faculty, students and parents participated in the second Family Service initiative of the year to partner with Feeding Children Everywhere to pack an astounding 47,000 meals for those in need. This is the third year in a row that Berkeley has partnered with Feeding Children Everywhere for this important cause. The volunteers packaged nutritious meals for children in our Tampa Bay community who are at risk for going without consistent meals during long, school breaks. Each assembly line team efficiently measured and packaged a concoction of healthy grains that can be heated into a great tasting meal. The food will be distributed through the Hillsborough Education Foundation. Last year, students and their families packaged over 40,000 meals. Photo Gallery
