Sixteen Berkeley Student-Athletes Commit to College Athletic Programs
Sixteen student-athletes from Berkeley Preparatory School have committed to continuing their athletic endeavors at some of the best colleges and universities in the country in front of a standing-room-only crowd of classmates, faculty, and family members. Those committing to compete for a Division 1 program signed the National Letter of Intent. Berkeley live streamed the event that can be viewed on the Berkeley Broadcast Network.
“Today is a special day as many student-athletes across the country sign their National Letters of Intent,” said athletic director Bobby Reinhart. “All 16 have proudly donned the Buccaneer uniform and represented Berkeley admirably as they join 75 Buccaneer alumni currently competing at the college level. Each has proven that athletic excellence can co-exist with exemplary performance in the classroom. Congratulations to you all – we are so proud of you.”
National Signing Day has become an annual tradition at Berkeley honoring the hard work and dedication of our senior Buccaneers who will continue their academic and athletic endeavors at the next level of college sports.

About the National Letter of Intent: The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. A prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters). Once a student-athlete is admitted, the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters).
Founded in 1960, Berkeley is an independent, Episcopal, college-preparatory day school located in Tampa, FL, for boys and girls in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12. Approximately 1,400 students gather here from the greater Tampa Bay area to form ONE Berkeley.
