Why I Support Berkeley

Cynthia Heath, who currently lives in Charlotte, is a proud supporter of Berkeley and served as Grandparent Chair for the 2021-22 school year.

My late husband, David, and I believed that education is the tool that breaks down all barriers, for both the individual and in our society. We strived to provide the best educational opportunities for our two girls. As a grandparent, I think it is just as important to support our grandchildren in the same way. We understand that tuition alone cannot support the needs of the school and its students. Giving to the Berkeley  Fund ensures that both expected and unexpected needs can be met. Further, we believe capital improvements enhance the educational experiences of our grandchildren. One of my philanthropic principles is to support organizations that help improve the communities in which my children and grandchildren live because a better community for all is a better place for them as well. Berkeley is one pillar of my commitment to the Tampa region.
