Advanced Drama Presents <i>"Ruthless! The Musical"</i>

Ambition runs spectacularly and humorously amok in Ruthless! The Musical. This small gem of a satirical musical about the consuming drive for stardom is filling the Lykes Center for the Arts in a hilarious and lively staging!

Little Louise Lerman was the star of the 3rd grade show. She had no talent whatsoever, but had all the right stuff: rich parents who were very generous to her 3rd grade teacher and the school. Practically perfect and most talented third-grader, Tina Denmark, turns homicidal when she’s passed over for the title role and is forced to play a dog. But that’s just the beginning. Turns out that everyone - from Tina’s teacher, who wrote “Pippi in Tahiti,” to Tina’s grandmother, a theater critic who hates musicals, to a ruthless, sleazy agent who nurses her aspirations of her own stardom - has suppressed dreams and dark secrets!
The show rocks and shocks the Smith Stage in the Lykes Center for the Arts beginning on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m. and continues on Friday and Saturday, October 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. This outrageous musical hit which spoofs All About Eve, The Bad Seed, Gypsy and a host of other shows, garnered rave reviews during its long Off Broadway run. Ruthless is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone! You may order your tickets by phone (813-885-1673 x. 2297) or in person at the box office. Visit for more information!
