Berkeley Welcomes National Conference of Chaplains and School Leaders

Berkeley Preparatory School is proud to host a national conference sponsored by the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES) and the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education (CSEE). This three-day conference, beginning on Thursday, aims to acquaint key individuals from independent schools with steps they can take, and helpful resources they can rely on, should unexpected tragedy hit their schools.

Berkeley will welcome 29 participants from across the county, including three that will travel to Tampa from Hawaii. This is the second time that Berkeley has been asked to host the yearly conference sponsored by NAES/CSEE. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Scott Poland, a nationally known expert in both violence prevention in schools, and dealing with emergencies in general. Clinical psychologist and Berkeley alumnus Rich Brown ’65 will also serve as a speaker during the event. Rt. Rev. Dabney Smith, bishop coadjutor of the Diocese of Southwest Florida, will also be in attendance.

Berkeley is very proud to host what guarantees to be an enlightening and productive conference involving a very timely and important subject.
