Everything we do at Berkeley is aimed at three enduring measures of success – the well-developed mind, the well-nourished spirit and a series of well-cultivated talents. This is possible because we start with students who want to grow. They gather here to question, challenge, explore, test and try. Once here, they find their curiosity rewarded with stimulating experiences and motivated individuals – our teachers.
At Berkeley, we surround students with opportunity. We embrace the natural curiosity that young children bring with them to school and build upon it. We introduce them to a rich and diverse array of opportunities inside and outside the classroom that allow them to learn and grow. We open them up to the possibilities in their lives, pay attention to what grabs their interest, and give them the resources and support to pursue those interests to the fullest. We help children climb to heights they never thought they could reach. The greatest benefit of teaching at Berkeley is to have the resources, professional development opportunities, planning time and support to truly prepare students for college and beyond and to empower them to make a positive difference in the world.
Professional Development & Personal Enrichment
We believe that ongoing professional development opportunities are essential to providing students with a 21st-Century education. Our teachers not only attend, but conduct seminars and discussions. Many teachers see their works published in national publications, and even more receive special grants for further study. Berkeley’s faculty received the most National Endowment for the Humanities grants of any school in the nation. Students reap the rewards of such scholarly investigations in classroom discussions and Advanced Placement courses.
Facilities & Resources
Our 86-acre campus in suburban Tampa offers first-rate educational and athletic resources and distinct, age-appropriate areas for the Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions. The school has launched a Campus Master Plan that is guiding campus enhancements and improvements that will benefit the entire Berkeley community. In addition to state-of-the-art facilities, extensive resources allow faculty members to maximize curriculum development for their classroom.
