50th Anniversary Service Scholar Award

Established to recognize and celebrate a very important point in Berkeley’s history, The 50th Anniversary Service Scholar Award recognizes the commitment to make a positive difference. This merit-based award is presented to an upper division student who exemplifies the essential values of Berkeley Preparatory School in an extraordinary way.

What is The 50th Anniversary Service Scholar Award?
  • Merit-based monetary award issued to a rising junior or senior
  • Used to develop and implement a service project
  • Local, national, or international in its scope
  • Awards will be issued in perpetuity through The 50th Anniversary Service Scholar Award endowment
The successful candidate will:
  • Have made a strong commitment to serving his or her community such that the student’s activities make a positive difference in the world;
  • Have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and participation and contributions to extracurricular pursuits;
  • Be highly respected by his or her peers and faculty;
  • Identify a current local, national or international problem; and
  • Research and analyze a meaningful and realistic solution to the problem.
To be a candidate, a Berkeley student must:
  • Complete their service project in a timely manner;
  • Document his or her service experience; and
  • Present their service experience to the student body upon completion.

Founded in 1960, Berkeley is an independent, Episcopal, college-preparatory day school located in Tampa, FL, for boys and girls in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12. Approximately 1,400 students gather here from the greater Tampa Bay area to form ONE Berkeley.
