Berkeley Welcomes Adolescent Expert Lindsay Squeglia October 23

Berkeley Preparatory School welcomes Lindsay Squeglia, Ph.D., to campus to speak with students in both the Middle and Upper Divisions. She is a leading researcher and speaker on adolescent brain development and the effects of drug and alcohol use on the adolescent brain. All Berkeley parents are invited to a special evening presentation, and we strongly encourage at least one parent from each family to join us. This important topic is worth your time. Please mark your calendars for Monday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Lykes Center for the Arts. Dr. Squeglia is a newly appointed Assistant Professor at the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2004, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the San Diego State University/University of California San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in 2012. Her current work focuses on understanding brain circuitry disruptions in adolescent heavy alcohol and marijuana users and utilizing this information to inform substance use treatments.
