IRC Invitational Meet Results

On Thursday, the JV and MD cross country teams decided to go for a run on the surface of the sun. In case you missed the weather forecast yesterday, I will let Ollie Williams paraphrase – “It’s Hot!” Thanks, Ollie! The teams traveled to Taylor Park in Largo to participate in the Indian Rocks Christian Invitational.
Our MD squads were up first, participating in the 2-mile race. The boys were led by the impressive duo of Marco Souchet and Storm Weber. Marco and Storm finished right next to each other to place 3rd and 4th overall. Kody Stephens ran as a strong number 3 on the day, while Xavier Castellano, Liam Devine, and Tyler Woods finished within 13 seconds of each other to round out our scoring team. On the girl’s side, Katelyn Chan had a superb race, placing 6th overall to lead the girls MD team. Both Boys and Girls teams placed 3rd in the 2-mile race.
Even though the JV 5K started later, Ollie informed us that “It’s Still Hot!” Grace Barrett, Thalia Fraifer, and Angelina Cardona ran well in a tough 5K race. On the Boys side, Robert Muldrow ran as our number 1 in a new PR! He was followed closely by Geno Fraifer who also ran a new PR! John Reilly, Anthony Broome, and Zev Huneycutt rounded out our top 5. Overall, the coaches were very pleased with the team’s efforts give the oppressive conditions.
The Varsity Teams will be competing on Saturday morning at the Florida Horse Park Invitational in Ocala. The MD Teams will be back in action on Monday in League running at Carrollwood Day School. The JV teams will be back in action next Saturday, Sept.14th at the Seffner Christian Invitational. Go Bucs!
