Durant Results

The Varsity Hockey team was back in action, facing off against Durant on Friday night in Brandon. Going toe-to-toe with one of the better teams in the league is no small task, and the Ice Bucs embraced the challenge with open arms. Playing solid positional hockey in their own defensive end – and relying heavily on the stellar goaltending of Spencer Rose – Berkeley was able to keep the Durant attack at bay, finishing the first period down only 1-0. In the second period, the Ice Bucs increased their offensive pressure, culminating in a James Horan goal, bringing the second intermission score to 3-1. Down by three late in the third (4-1), Berkeley mounted yet another attack, giving Horan one more opportunity to put one past the goal line. Unfortunately, this would be the closest the Ice Bucs would come to tying it up, as Durant scored two additional goals in the final two minutes of the game.
