Hillsborough County Meet Results

With fall on the horizon, Mother Nature was determined to give the JV Cross Country team one last breath of summer. As your JV Bucs lined up at the Hillsborough County Championships, the massive crowds could feel the humidity bearing down on the competitors. With the thermometer topping out at what felt like 126 degrees, the girls took to the course first. Thalia Fraifer led the charge with an 11th place finish in only her second race back from injury. Next through the chute was Angelina Cardona grabbing the 20th place ribbon. Rounding out your JV Girls were Briana Orbegoso and Grace Barrett. While the girls did not have enough runners for a team score, their effort was nothing short of fabulous.
The JV Boys were up next to tackle the two-loop course at Al Lopez park. Leading the pack of Berkeley Bucs was Liam Andrews, with Mason Cruse right on his heels. Next across the finish line was the pack of Diogo Santos, Geno Fraifer, Anthony Broome and Miles Andrews. Rounding out the boys’ team were Zev Huneycutt and Edward Sieh. The Boys team worked hard as a pack and placed 13th as a team in a field of Hillsborough’s best.
This was the final meet for the JV team and the coaches would like to congratulate them all on a well-run season. We wish our seniors, Briana and Corey Bader the best of luck in their future endeavors, and look forward to seeing the rest of them back next season!
