Welcome Back to Berkeley!

Berkeley Preparatory School opened the 2020-21 school year on August 25 with great anticipation and excitement, and did so safe and together, united on campus. The fall semester opened on schedule with 1,386 students eager to regain a sense of normalcy in a year that has been anything but normal.

The Berkeley community came together under Scenario A of a comprehensive COVID-19 mitigation plan, Berkeley, Safe and Together, crafted to guide our school through any one of three scenarios to be implemented as needed. Based on the energy we’ve experienced throughout campus during the first week of school, we made the right decision.

While many events and traditions that would normally bring us together have been curtailed, our Buccaneer spirit still remains in full force. Berkeley is resilient and will always find a way to make the best of any situation. Take for example our first all-school convocation that was livestreamed throughout campus from the Gabos Family Recital Hall so that all Buccaneers could come together virtually. We’re also excited that most fall sports will soon be underway. And every effort is being made to share the Berkeley experience with our families even though they cannot be here in person.

Berkeley is back and, like always, we aspire to make this our best year yet. Go Bucs!
