Calvary Results

The Varsity Baseball team played almost perfect baseball Saturday night as they defeated Calvary Christian 4-1. Calvary had beaten the Bucs in three previous late season matchups and were ranked #3 in the country by MaxPreps. Trailing by a run in the top of the second, Owen McElfatrick led off the inning with a double off the fence and came around to score after a throwing error by the catcher. The Bucs plated two more runs in the 4th inning, as Anthony Castillo scored on another throwing error and JoJo Troupe added a RBI as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The Bucs added an insurance run in the 7th inning. Drew Canody led off the inning with a triple and after an intentional walk to Cade Kurland, Castillo laid down a perfect bunt to score the 4th run of the night. JT Quinn was masterful on the mound. He went six innings, gave up 1 run, 3 hits and struck out 7 Warrior batters. Freshman Rivers Kurland was called upon to get the final three outs of the game. Calvary loaded the bases with 2 outs, and with the winning run at the plate, Kurland was able to induce a fly ball to left field to secure the win. With the win, the Bucs travel to Lakeland Christian on Tuesday night to play in the Regional Final for the second year in a row. We would like to thank all the amazing students, faculty and administrators that came out to the game. You created an electric atmosphere and it felt like a home game!
