God’s Simple Presence

When Chaplain asked me to share where I have seen God in the world, I first thought of tactile blessings such as the earth, the school we go to, but I realized that God is present in every friendship and day to day interaction we have that brings us joy. God is present in simply having lunch with those who are close to you or even spending time after school with your team at practice. He is present when someone makes you laugh during break or in the busy and hectic school day you two happen to have a free period together that makes the day that much better.

Psalm 15 and the Scriptures for this week further talk about appreciating and loving one’s neighbors and friends because they are one of God's greatest gifts and blessings. Yes, not every person or interaction is beneficial and not everyone you cross paths with is going to lift your spirits, but if you follow God and trust the process, you can end up with relationships that are bound to last.

To have someone whom you can rely on and enjoy their company cannot be manifested by humans, because it is something so valuable and special that God must be present.
