Trusting God Through All Situations

Throughout my life, I have encountered many moments from God whether it be a shared laugh with a friend or much-needed wisdom from my parents. Just as Abraham was asked to trust God to give him descents, he put his faith in God despite his age. As I approach exam season sometimes I feel overwhelmed so I try to practice trusting God through all circumstances and find small things during my day to remind me that God is with me. Just as Jesus had his disciples, it is vital to have like-minded friends who encourage you to help others. This past summer my friend and I volunteered to teach classes to middle schoolers. I found this experience so rewarding because I was helping in my community, just as Jesus calls us to do, and I was able to learn many valuable lessons.

One of my closest friends is my little brother and as his older sister, I try to lead by example and give him advice about what it looks like to live for Jesus. However, about a month ago, he was talking to me about advice his pitching coach told him about how to stay focused on pitching in high-pressure situations. Instead of worrying about the person you just walked or the error on 3rd, stay focused on what matters and trust in your pitches. This piece of advice also applies to our everyday life. Although things might seem overwhelming and out of control it is important that you trust that God has control of your lifeJust as today's reading from the Gospel says, Peter and the disciples trusted that their nets would be filled with fish after Jesus said so. I make it a priority to trust God that he is working all things out.
