Lower Division Celebrates International Peace Day

Lower division students recently gathered around the Peace Poles to commemorate International Peace Day.  Students created pinwheels and paper cranes as symbols of peace. Mrs. Gregory led the children in singing "Let there be Peace on Earth." Mrs. Moore spoke to the students about what this day meant, explaining its origins. Surrounded by student-created artwork and joyful singing, International Peace Day reinforced the value's we practice daily at Berkeley. Creating a culture of peace begins with practicing respect and kindness toward one another and our community. It was an amazing way to start out the day!
