Seniors Get “Inside Scoop” from Alumni About College Life

The Class of 2010 welcomed 17 Berkeley alumni on campus today for College Day, an annual Berkeley event where alumni speak with seniors to help them prepare for the exciting transition from Berkeley to college. Alumni were greeted by Headmaster Joe Merluzzi and Alumni Association President Jeff Hunt ’93 before leading discussions with seniors on choosing college classes and majors, living with roommates, doing laundry, getting involved in extracurricular activities and adjusting to being away from family. This year’s alumni panelists include: Michael Alberts ’08 – SMU, Caitlin Attal ’09 – Georgetown, Steven Biddinger ’09 – American, Alexis Dempsey ’09 – UCF, Kamelia Dimitrova ’09 – NYU, Ashley Hartenbach ’09 – University of South Carolina, Neal Miller ’08 – Duke, Amanda Morejon ’09 – William & Mary, Emery Morris ’09 – Oxford at Emory, Nick Orobello ’09 – Davidson, Mitch Phillips ’07 – Miami, Gigi Rodriguez ’08 – Tufts, Gaby Sena ’09 – NYU, Elliot Stein ’09 – Harvard, Sara West ’08 – Penn State, Meg Weiss ’09 – UVA and Jackie Wooley ’09 – Brown. After the lively panel discussions, seniors and alums mingled and enjoyed lunch where they shared lots of laughs and memories. Many alumni from the class of 2009 also returned to catch up over lunch. Thank you to our alumni panelists for sharing college experiences with the senior class. It was great to see everyone, and the alumni support helped make College Day a fun educational experience for the 2010 Class!
