Student Forum to Name Guide Dog Puppy in Training "JAM" in Honor of Headmaster Joseph A. Merluzzi!

For the third-consecutive year, students will arrive to campus in the fall and meet a new four-legged friend. Upper Division’s Student Forum raised over $3,000 this year, which enabled them to select a name for a guide dog puppy in training. Students chose to name the puppy “JAM” in honor of Headmaster Joseph A. Merluzzi, who is leaving Berkeley this year after 24 years as Headmaster. Student Forum Treasurer Connor Stonesifer ’12 and Sophomore Class Representative Reed Miller ’13 presented the check to Library Department Chair C.D. McLean, who will be JAM’s trainer. Mr. Merluzzi was also on hand for the check presentation. Members of the Student Forum and Animal Club will visit Southeastern Guide Dogs over the summer to pick up JAM!
