Five Berkeley Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

National Signing Day has become an annual tradition at Berkeley honoring the hard work and dedication of our senior Buccaneers who will continue their academic and athletic endeavors at some of the country’s top colleges and universities. The ceremony was streamed live on the Berkeley Broadcast Network and can be replayed for viewing.

Daniel Felman
  • Playing four years of varsity soccer since the 8th grade, Daniel scored 44 goals and contributed 36 assists in his career.
  • In his junior year, Daniel scored 22 goals with 14 assists while directing our team to the state finals.
  • He attributes much of his development as a player, and eventual team leader, to his work under Coaches Tim Cooper and Aaron Smith.
  • Daniel will play soccer next year for Coach Dennis Bohn at Lafayette College in Easton, PA, in the NCAA Division I Patriot League.
 
Addison Harden
  • She is a 4-year letter winner and 3-year MVP of the track & field team.
  • She first broke the school record in the discus and shot put in her sophomore year.
  • Last year, she took home state runner-up honors in the discus and set a personal best throw in the shot put placing 4th.
  • She was recruited by numerous schools including the University of Arizona, University of Florida, and the University of Connecticut.
  • She is thrilled to be throwing in the acclaimed Pac 12 Conference along other world-ranked throwers who convinced her to become a Wildcat at the University of Arizona.
 
Austin Iglehart
Punter/Kicker
  • 3-year letterman
  • 1st team All-County
  • Named to Hillsborough County All-Star Team
  • All-State Honorable Mention
  • Led the state in yards per punt in Class 3A averaging 43.5 yards per punt
  • Longest punt of 77 yards
  • 3rd overall average in the state of Florida
  • Led the Buccaneers in scoring
  • Committed to Wake Forest as a preferred walk-on
 
Hayden Johnson
  • She is a four year starter on the varsity girls basketball team.
  • She has been a physical presence under the basket, leading the county in rebounding the past two seasons.
  • She was a captain her senior year and was an excellent mentor to the younger players.
  • Hayden surpassed 1,000 rebounds for her career on her senior night and this demonstrates her physical abilities, her perseverance and her never quit attitude.
  • Hayden has decided to play basketball next year at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
 
Jared Shimberg
  • 6'4" -245 pounds - Tight End - Offensive Line - Defensive Line - Long Snapper
  • 4-year letterman - Captain
  • Named Second-Team All-State
  • Named Honorable Mention All-County
  • Named to Hillsborough County All-Star Team
  • Recruited by Princeton, Penn, Cornell, Dartmouth, Columbia
  • Committed to Brown University to play as a Tight End
