Four Berkeley Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent


National Signing Day has become an annual tradition at Berkeley honoring the hard work and dedication of our senior Buccaneers who will continue their academic and athletic endeavors at some of the country’s top colleges and universities. Dana Manning:
Manning has been a five-year starter at sweeper and outside marking back.  She is a senior leader on defense for this year’s Region Champion and State-qualifying girls soccer team.  Manning was also a member of the varsity track and field team in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades earning eight varsity letters over her Berkeley career.  She has committed to play soccer at Wake Forest University.
 
Brad Mayes:
Mayes was a senior captain on this year’s varsity football team, a four-year varsity letterman and three-year starter at quarterback. As a starter, Mayes accrued 4088 passing yards, 271 completions, and 36 passing touchdowns.  He was named All-Hillsborough County, All-State, and was invited to play in the Hillsborough County All-Star game and the Blue-Grey All-American game.  Mayes has also played varsity basketball and varsity baseball while at Berkeley.  Recruited by numerous Division 1, Ivy, and Patriot League schools, Mayes has committed to play football at Lehigh University.
 
Aiden O’Carroll:
O’Carroll has been a three-year varsity football letterman and three-year starter at offensive tackle.  He was named Second Team All-County and Second Team All-State for Class 3A.  O’Carroll was also named to the Hillsborough County All-Star team.   O’Carroll also played three years of basketball at Berkeley. Recruited by numerous Ivy League and Patriot League schools, O’Carroll has committed to play football Lehigh University.
 
Joe Schiano:
Schiano has been a three-year starter at outside linebacker and defensive end on the varsity football team.  This season, he had 90 tackles, 40 solo tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and 15 hurries.  He was named to Second Team All-Hillsborough County and selected to the Hillsborough County All-Star team. Recruited by several Ivy and Patriot League schools as well as the service academies, Schiano has committed to play football at Bucknell University.
