Ms. Bryn Harvey
Performing Arts, Lower Division
Co-Director of the Summer Arts Institute
Bryn Harvey’s fine arts career spans over 25 years, from student to teacher and administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory and is currently the Lower Division Theatre Director and Upper Division Musical Associate Director/Choreographer at Berkeley Preparatory School. Bryn served two years as the Activities Director for Summer Programs, including Performing Arts and English Second Language programs, at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA. Also, she was instrumental in the development of the multi-level tap program within Wyoming Seminary’s Dance and Fine Arts department and taught/choreographed for over 100 students from 15 different countries.
Bryn spent her childhood and teen years studying tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, pointe, modern, hip hop, voice and theatre at her family-owned and operated performing arts studio in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Bryn later became a senior dance instructor at the studio and won national awards and recognition for her group dance pieces, as well as her own solo performances. Bryn has collectively performed in, and/or choreographed and directed, over 50 musicals, plays and other main stage performances. Some of her favorite credits include: Sheila (A Chorus Line), Reno Sweeney (Anything Goes), Vivienne (Legally Blonde the Musical), Mrs. Walker (The Who’s Tommy), and Choreographer for Anything Goes, Legally Blonde the Musical, Annie, Beauty and the Beast.
Twelve of Bryn’s past summers were spent entirely at summer camp programs. From activities director for 100 non-English speakers to introducing a dance fitness program at a sports camp in the Poconos, choreographing Cats for 64 middle division students, and all the way back to her first week of sleepaway camp in the woods, Bryn loves summer camp and believes in the value of fun and educational summer programs. Bryn is so excited to introduce the Summer Arts Institute at Berkeley Preparatory School!
