Berkeley Preparatory School Technology Vision Statement:
Berkeley students use technology to explore the world, expand their horizons, and make a positive difference in a media-centric, rapidly changing digital age.

As the first Pre-K–grade 12 school in the Southeast to deploy a campus-wide wireless network and the first to launch a lower school laptop program, Berkeley leads the way in the thoughtful integration of technology and learning. Teachers and students understand that the future belongs to those who are prepared to exploit technology’s potential through the use of state-of-the-art tools available in every Berkeley classroom.

At Berkeley, Anytime Anywhere Learning is Berkeley’s student technology initiative which recognizes that in today's information-driven global society, learning should not be bound by the walls of the classroom or the hours of the school day. While all Berkeley students have convenient access to age-appropriate technologies, students in grades 4 through 12 enjoy ubiquitous access to their personally-owned devices.

Grades 4 and 5 use iPads purchased through Berkeley to place the world’s information resources at their fingertips. In the 2018-2019 school year, students in grades 6 through 8 are required to use MacBook Pros leased through the school. As part of our new Mac@Berkeley program. Students in grades 9 to 12 use an OS X notebook either leased through the school or purchased on their own. Personal digital devices are a great source for active learning by offering unparalleled opportunities to enhance problem-solving, improve collaboration, deepen understanding, improve achievement and foster lifelong learning.
