What’s Happening at Berkeley
Anne Wiles Recognized as a “CFO of the Year” by the Tampa Bay Business Journal
Apr 09, 2025
Anne Wiles, Berkeley’s Director of Finance and Business Operations, was recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as a CFO of the Year honoree. She was nominated by her peers, and a panel of judges awarded the honor based on:
-
Her contributions to Berkeley
-
Her community involvement
-
Her excellence in accountability
-
Her ethics in management
First hired in 2018, Anne has systematically transformed the procedures and workflows within Berkeley’s Business Office—this has not only helped her team work more effectively, but it has also benefited Berkeley’s nearly 500 full-time and part-time employees. By simplifying processes, Berkeley’s dedicated teachers can focus on what they do best: providing the highest-quality educational experience possible for 1,400+ students.
Anne drives innovation across campus, masterfully manages school resources, and fosters Berkeley’s financial health—all of which earned her Berkeley’s Employee Award for Excellence in 2021, just three years after she arrived on campus. But when asked what her biggest accomplishment is, Anne says it’s playing a role in the growth of her team.
As part of her nomination, Headmaster Joseph W. Seivold wrote: “Without a doubt, hiring Anne Wiles to serve as Berkeley Preparatory School’s CFO in 2018 was one of the greatest triumphs of my career. Since her arrival, Anne has had a transformative impact on the culture of the Business Office, the spirit of innovation across campus, and the trajectory of the institution. Her infectious laugh and wry wit belie a sharp intellect, creative mind, and driven professionalism; she is, simply put, the best in the business.”
Anne will be formally recognized in the May 23 edition of the Tampa Bay Business Journal, along with 16 other CFO of the Year honorees.
