Lasher Center for Business and Entrepreneurial Studies

The Lasher Center for Business and Entrepreneurial Studies provides Berkeley students with meaningful opportunities to develop financial intelligence, business knowledge, and entrepreneurial skills. Opportunities include:

• Finance Classes: these include AP® Business with Personal Finance, an Upper Division course that develops students’ understanding of business, personal finance, and the quantitative skills needed to make informed financial decisions, as well as financial education incorporated into Freshman Seminar

• The Lasher Business Institute: an intensive, one-year elective program within the Center for Advanced Experiential Learning that provides Berkeley sophomores, juniors, and seniors with substantive, relevant, and integrative instructional experiences in business fundamentals, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship

• Buc Ventures Investments, LLC: a student investment fund that supports alumni startups with financial and intellectual capital while providing Berkeley students with meaningful experiential learning as they evaluate companies and help determine which enterprises receive funding

Through these opportunities, the Lasher Center is helping to build a culture of financial intelligence at Berkeley, empowering students with the confidence, knowledge, and judgment to make smart financial decisions and engage thoughtfully with the world of business and entrepreneurship.
