How to Apply to Upper Division

Berkeley Preparatory School’s admissions process is a holistic analysis of an applicant’s developmental, social-emotional, and academic ability and potential. Upper Division applications (for ninth to twelfth grade) are available in early September, with a February 1 deadline. Admissions decisions are communicated at the end of February. Applications received after the deadline will be considered for the waiting pool.
In order to be eligible for consideration for admission to Berkeley’s ninth grade, students must successfully complete a full year of Algebra I or higher and must be able to demonstrate a strong foundational understanding of Algebra I concepts. The math curriculum of the Upper Division begins with Geometry and Honors Geometry; Algebra I is not offered in the Upper Division.
