Bahama Books Service Trip
Saturday, February 14 to Wednesday, February 18, 2026

Service Trip Location: Nassau, Bahamas
Berkeley’s Upper Division has partnered with Mission: Educate Bahamas and Bahama Books, two Nassau-based nonprofit organizations that are committed to improving literacy in Nassau’s primary schools. Trip participants will serve at a primary school in Nassau, stocking their library with age-appropriate titles donated during a Bahama Books pre-trip book drive on Berkeley’s campus. The students will also read to elementary-age children, teach the students and administrators how to use their library, and learn about Bahamian culture. Additionally, participants must create lesson plans before the trip. Students will deliver these lesson plans to the librarian running the newly established library. At the end of each trip day, Upper Division students will run the day’s reflection exercise with the Middle Division students who are also a part of the trip. The trip will occur from Saturday, February 14 to Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and all Upper Division students are eligible to apply.
Cost: $2,250 per person (maximum of nine participants)
