Sixth Grade Students Build a Civilization Using Minecraft
Oct 20, 2023
For two weeks, sixth grade students in Antonia Palmeri’s and Joshua Beckwith’s Global Studies I classes have been enthralled by the “Create a Civilization” project. Students used the five traits and characteristics of a civilization to create their own unique civilization, including a city, specialized workers, improved technology, complex institutions, and a method of record keeping. They could either use Minecraft, Legos, or a poster to create a representation of the civilization. Then, they presented their work to their classes.
