Fifth Graders at Berkeley Build and Ride Hovercrafts

As part of the Pagidipati Center for Science, Engineering, and Technology (C-SET), fifth grade students had fun with STEM by building, riding, and racing hovercrafts.
The Pagidipati C-SET teachers for second through fifth grade—Michele McKenna and Colette Rice ’14—partnered with the Hovercraft Project for this exciting, in-school field trip.
Since 2009, more than 70,000 students across the country have benefited by participating in this one-day, hands-on project.
“We’ve taught this program in many schools, and we’ve found that the students learn to love to learn!” said Matthew Chase, Executive Director of The Hovercraft Project.
