Introducing the Gipe Golf Complex
Feb 15, 2024
Berkeley Preparatory School is proud to introduce the Gipe Golf Complex! The complex, located on the north side of the Lower Division P.E. Field on campus, contains a 10-bay driving range with netting, a 2,250-square-foot putting green with multiple holes, fringe and chipping areas around the green, a paver walkway, and a pergola-covered patio area.
The complex will be used by the Boys and Girls Varsity Golf Teams, students in P.E., Berkeley Summer Programs, parents in clinics, and more.
“The Gipe Golf Complex is truly a coach’s dream come true,” says Jane Geddes, Head Coach of the Girls and Boys Varsity Golf Teams, a parent of two Upper Division students, and a former professional golfer who won both the 1986 U.S. Women’s Open and the 1987 LPGA Championship. “The luxury of having a state-of-the art practice facility on campus is a game changer with regards to accessibility for our students of all ages. While the varsity team members will clearly benefit greatly, the ability to use the facility to grow the game with our younger students and older beginners provides a unique opportunity for the entire campus.”
