Students Receive 50th Anniversary Service Scholar Awards

Congrats to our newest 50th Anniversary Service Scholar Award recipients! Over the next year, they’ll be working on their projects, which aim to make a positive difference in the world.
Eser Ozer ’27 and Akarsh Thalakola ’27 – Digital Student Marketing
This project supports immigrant-owned small businesses by providing affordable marketing services such as website design, social media management, and printed materials like business cards and flyers.
Christopher Leonardo ’27 – Berkeley Academy VEX IQ Robotics Team
This project will introduce Berkeley Academy students to the exciting world of VEX Robotics by giving them the opportunity to design, build, and program robots as part of a competitive team.
Kene Oguine ’27 – CLEAN Schools
CLEAN Schools (Community Learning, Equity, and Access to Necessities) is bringing hygiene education and personalized care supplies to 120 students in six under-resourced schools in rural Nigeria.
Gabby Flitman ’28 – Bridging the Coaching Gap
This project uses computer vision and AI-powered joint-angle analysis to help fencers improve their technique through uploaded videos and real-time coaching feedback and aims to make high-quality fencing instruction accessible to athletes of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Esha Shah ’27 – Our Next Chapter
Our Next Chapter inspires a love of reading in young children through mentorship, creative activities, and one-on-one support.
