This program is designed specifically for students entering the Upper Division at an independent school for the first time. This comprehensive summer program introduces and reinforces academic skills that are necessary for success in the Upper Division. Courses include:
- Introduction to High School Writing: A two-week writing workshop that aims to prepare students for the rigors of a high school level English class
- Reading, Research and Organization: A two-week course that aims to provide intensive instruction on foundational skills such as research and library skills, textbook reading skills, note taking skills, study skills, organizational skills and computer skills
- Berkeley Bridge Class: A two-week course that addresses the needs of students entering Berkeley from a non-independent school setting; This course will cover basic computer skills, study skills, reading and writing skills; It will also provide an opportunity for students to meet various members of the Berkeley community and become familiar with campus resources.
