Alonso Results

The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team travelled to Alonso HS last night for a District game. This has not traditionally been a tough matchup, and we were not fully ready for this particular Alonso team that was more athletic, tougher, and better disciplined than in previous years. We came out a bit slowly, and by the end of the first quarter we held only a 3-1 lead. At this point, however, our boys realized that we were in for a different type of game than we had anticipated, and they rose to the occasion. We had trouble finishing shots and a few mental lapses led to penalties that led to Alonso goals, but despite these errors, we continued to fight hard and win the physical battle. We were undoubtedly the more talented team, but on the night it was our grit and hustle that got us over the line. We may not have won the way we had expected to, but we stood strong and earned a District victory. We are back in action for another District contest tomorrow night against Robinson HS at 7:00pm on Dickey Field.
