Mooney Tourney Results

The JV Navy Volleyball Buccaneers headed down to Sarasota for Cardinal Mooney's Area Future's JV tournament this past Saturday. The girls did very well during pool play, defeating Port Charlotte HS 2-1, Out of Door Academy 2-0, and Braden River 2-0. We faced the second seeded Venice HS in our fourth match of the day, which we lost in two sets. The girls fought HARD but fatigue began to set in, resulting in too many errors to get the W. Next, facing Riverview HS for the 3rd place overall finish, which we won in two sets. The Bucs not only finished the tournament 4-1, but played great as a TEAM in their first ever competition as a very new team. It was almost a 12-hour day of volleyball. The girls were exhausted, but fought hard and grew some mental toughness to finish the way they did. Coach McAuley is very proud of every single player and cannot wait for a very successful season!
