Not Too Young to Protect the Planet!

First graders are learning how to become "Planet Protectors." The students are focusing on how we impact the natural world and how we can make a difference to keep habitats healthy through conservation, recycling and litter prevention. While on a field trip to Caladesi Island, one of the most beautiful natural beaches in the nation, they participated in a "Beach Clean-Up." The Park Rangers thanked the children for giving back to the community by cleaning the beach. In addition, waste reduction and litter prevention specialists from Hillsborough County are visiting the first grade classes.  Kudos to the 6 and 7 year olds who are making a positive difference in the world and protecting our planet!
