Exter Road Traffic Update

We are very excited to begin work on Berkeley’s new Sports Complex! As we work through the last series of items that need to be addressed before we break ground, we would like to update you in regards to traffic and parking changes. We have worked together with key members of the planning committee so that any inconvenience will be minimized.

During the start of the 2011-12 school year, all inbound and outbound traffic via Exter Rd. will be redirected. Only construction-related vehicles will be allowed to use this entrance/exit. If you are accustomed to using Exter Rd., we urge you to please access campus via Bray Rd. The Bray Rd. entrance will accommodate additional traffic flow during drop-off and pick-up times. Some students will experience minor parking adjustments at the south end of the Senior parking lot. These parking spaces will be fenced off for construction activity. This will require a small number of Seniors to park in designated spaces at the gravel lot, located near the Lykes Center for the Arts.

During the drop-off and pick-up periods of the day, we encourage all lower division traffic to use only the New Orleans entrance for both arrival and departure. We encourage middle and upper division traffic to use the Bray Rd. route (this is most critical from shortly after 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m.). If you need to move from one location to another, you will experience some delay in the traffic lanes.

These adjustments will continue throughout the building process, with minimal affect to other access and parking arrangements. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
