Jordan Burgess ’12 and Randy Dagostino Honored by Florida Dairy Farmers for Second-Straight Year

Jordan Burgess ’12 and Randy Dagostino were honored a convocation on December 5 by the Florida Dairy Farmers. Burgess was named 2011 Miss Volleyball, and Dagostino was recognized as the 2011 Girls’ Volleyball Coach of the Year. Burgess became the first repeat winner in the 20-year history of the award. Dagostino took home the award for the third time in his career. More than 500 students and faculty were in attendance for the ceremony, which included a congratulatory milk toast, as well as representatives from the Florida Dairy Farmers, their large inflatable cows and local media.

Burgess, who led the Bucs to a third-straight Class 3A state championship and Berkeley's 15th overall, is the fourth Berkeley Prep player to be named Miss Volleyball – the most of any school since the award began in 1992.

The Florida Dairy Farmers Sports Awards honor the state’s top athletes and coaches in all 26 FHSAA-sanctioned sports for the 19th consecutive year. The program also emphasizes to young people the importance of keeping dairy products a primary part of their diet in their overall nutrition plan. Congratulations, Jordan and Coach Dagostino!
