Congratulations to the Class of 2012

Berkeley Preparatory School would like to congratulate the 150 members of the Class of 2012 who graduated June 3, 2012 among hundreds of family and friends in the Straz Family Field House. The graduates of Berkeley’s 50th Commencement exercises listened to an inspiring address by Kristin Gilliss ’95 who shared with the audience how her time at Berkeley prepared her for successful careers in business, non-profits and in public service throughout the world. She explained to the graduates that a Berkeley education has provided them with the tools they will need to truly make a difference in the world.

Students from the Class of 2012 were accepted to a combined total of 180 colleges and universities in 35 states, the District of Columbia, France, Italy and Switzerland. All graduates were accepted in a college or university, 13 were National Merit Finalists, eight were National Merit Commended Scholars, four were National Hispanic Scholars, and 105 will attend out-of-state schools (70 percent of the class). The Class of 2012 earned $8.6 million in scholarship money, and 89 percent of the class qualified for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship program.

Congratulations to Berkeley’s 2012 graduates and newest alumni.
