Berkeley Summer Programs is proud to present the all new Summer Arts Institute! For its inaugural 2018 summer, the in-house Summer Arts Institute boasts two tracks guaranteed to fit the desires of all budding artists: the “Artists of Tomorrow" track and an "Intensives" track.

The Artists of Tomorrow (AOT) program is a weekly day camp for Pre-K through 8th grade students. A typical day starts at 9am and ends at 3pm. Each week will be centered around an exciting and different theme and will always end with a public showcase of the week’s work! There are three sub-divisions of AOT; see the descriptions below to find the age-appropriate and skills-appropriate track for you!

Our Intensives track allows students to focus on one specific artistic discipline, such as Pottery, Musical Theatre, and Band.

About the directors:
Brian Panetta is Berkeley’s director of bands.  During the school year, he instructs the upper division marching band and jazz ensemble, teaches sixth grade beginning band, directs the middle division concert band, and coaches the middle division drumline. He received his Master of Music in instrumental music education from Bowling Green and his Bachelor of Music in music education from the University of Dayton. Prior to arriving at Berkeley in 2014, he was the director and coordinator of music at Sandusky Central Catholic School in Ohio.

Bryn Harvey’s fine arts career spans over 25 years, from student to teacher and administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory and is currently the Lower Division Theatre Director and Upper Division Musical Associate Director/Choreographer at Berkeley Preparatory School. Bryn served two years as the Activities Director for Summer Programs, including Performing Arts and English Second Language programs, at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA.
